Blue Jays' Guerrero leads all players in All-Star Game voting

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s breakout season looks like it will include a trip to Coors Field in Colorado for the 2021 All-Star Game.

The Toronto Blue Jays first baseman leads all players in voting for the Midsummer Classic after the first round of balloting with 857,956 votes, the league announced Monday.

The 22-year-old slugger is putting together an MVP-caliber season while leading the majors in almost every significant offensive statistic, including the American League's Triple Crown categories (home runs, RBIs, and batting average). His 4.1 fWAR is almost a full win better than the second-best mark.

Meanwhile, Guerrero's teammate Marcus Semien is tops in voting among AL second basemen.

The league and ballot selections from players will determine all of the pitchers and reserves.

The All-Star Game will take place on July 13.
