Cubs' Happ carted off field after collision with teammate Hoerner

Chicago Cubs center fielder Ian Happ was carted off the field after colliding with second baseman Nico Hoerner while they were both chasing a pop-up in the eighth inning of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Happ tried to stand up before the cart arrived, but then he went back to the ground, according to Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune.

Cubs manager David Ross said the outfielder was feeling all right when they spoke postgame. The skipper was still awaiting an official report from the team's training staff.

"He feels fine. (He took a) pretty good blow to the face," Ross said, according to Tony Andracki of the Marquee Sports Network. "I haven't heard the doctor's report yet, but I did talk to Ian and he's in good spirits."

Hoerner remained in the contest after making the catch.

Happ had tied the game at 12 with a home run in the top of the eighth.
