Francisco Lindor knows there will be good and bad days during a 162-game season.

The New York Mets' performance against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday fell into the latter category after they committed a season-high four errors, three of which came during a seven-run fourth inning for the Cubs, contributing to a 16-4 loss.

"New York, we're not trying to lose games," Lindor said, according to SNY.

"We're working as hard as we can every day to win ballgames," he continued. "But we're going to lose at least 50 games. If we win 112, that's impressive right there, so at least we're going to lose 50."

The 27-year-old shortstop, who hit his first homer for the Mets during Wednesday's blowout, described how stable New York's clubhouse has remained despite early-season adversity.

"When somebody is down, the next guy picks him up and helps to stay even-keeled as well," Lindor said.

"That's something the guys have done really, really good here," he added. "... The first two weeks of the season there's been a lot of adversity. Good teams go through those things and come out on top."

Seven of the Mets' first 15 games have been postponed for various reasons. They remain atop the National League East with a 7-6 record.
