The Milwaukee Brewers placed outfielder Lorenzo Cain on the 10-day injured list with a strained left quad, the team announced Wednesday.

Cain limped to the dugout following a first-inning groundout and then exited Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs.

The 35-year-old missed a significant portion of spring training after straining his right quad early in camp, which slowed down his progress for the season following his decision to opt out of most of the 2020 campaign.

Cain owns a .154/.214/.423 slash line with two home runs and four RBIs through seven games this season.

In a corresponding move, the Brewers recalled outfielder Tyrone Taylor from the club's alternate training site.
