The Boston Red Sox and reliever Hector Rondon agreed to a minor-league deal, sources told Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com.

Rondon was released by the Philadelphia Phillies last week after posting a 7.71 ERA over seven spring appearances.

However, the right-hander has enjoyed success in the majors. Rondon, 33, owns a career 3.49 ERA with 92 saves over eight years with the Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, and Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Red Sox finished with the second-worst fWAR among American League bullpens in 2020.
