Tampa Bay Rays two-way player Brendan McKay recently pushed back throwing sessions in his shoulder rehabilitation after cutting his left index finger while trying to remove tags from dog toys, according to MLB.com's Adam Berry.
The mishap means McKay, who underwent a labrum repair last year, likely won't pitch on a mound until the end of March, Berry adds.
McKay's rehab is going fine, otherwise, with the 25-year-old taking batting practice nearly every day. He's expected to get some live at-bats in the next two weeks.
The 2017 first-round draft pick hasn't appeared in a big-league game since the 2019 American League Division Series.
