The Atlanta Braves signed manager Brian Snitker to a contract extension through the 2023 season with a club option for 2024 on Friday.

"I am thrilled that Brian will continue to lead our club on the field and in the clubhouse," Braves president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said. "Three consecutive division titles speak to the impact of Brian and his staff, and we are pleased that he will continue to guide our club through 2023."

Atlanta named Snitker as its interim manager in 2016, and he took over the full-time job ahead of the 2017 campaign. He's held various roles with the NL East organization for the last 45 years after joining the club as an undrafted free agent in 1977.

The 65-year-old has amassed a 353-317 record as Atlanta's manager and is the only skipper in franchise history to lead the Braves to the postseason in three of his first four full seasons.

He was named NL Manager of the Year in 2018.
