The New York Mets agreed to a one-year, $3.55-million deal with infielder Jonathan Villar, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
Villar's deal, which is pending a physical, reportedly includes incentives.
The switch-hitter should upgrade a Mets bench that also has new additions Albert Almora Jr. and Jose Martinez.

Villar split the 2020 campaign between the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays, hitting .232/.301/.292 with 15 RBIs and 16 steals.
The speedy 29-year-old has swiped 218 bases during his eight-year career, including a league-leading 62 in 2016. He's also a versatile defender, appearing at five different positions since 2013.
