The New York Mets are discussing a two-year deal with left-hander Brad Hand, a source told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Rosenthal's source originally told him an agreement was close before he issued a correction.

The Cleveland Indians non-tendered Hand in October after he authored a 2.05 ERA and led MLB with 16 saves last season.

Hand has been one of baseball's best relievers since 2016, saving 104 games and striking out 12.2 hitters per nine.

The Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, San Francisco Giants, and Toronto Blue Jays have all shown significant interest in the three-time All-Star.
