The trade sending right-hander Yu Darvish and his catcher Victor Caratini from the Chicago Cubs to the San Diego Padres hasn't been made official yet, but the duo is already talking about their new home.

Darvish tweeted a screenshot of a text from Caratini jokingly referencing the reported deal.

The 34-year-old pitcher apparently learned about the deal on Twitter and not from the Cubs directly.

"Information that seems to have confirmed my trade came out from a leading source, but my cell phone does not ring," Darvish tweeted in Japanese on Monday, according to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune. "What kind of system is it?"

Despite the trade surprise, Darvish and Caratini are showing they can have a little fun with it.

Darvish has three years remaining on a six-year, $126-million contract originally signed with the Cubs before the 2018 season.
