Nine people in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization have now tested positive for COVID-19, L.A. County health officials said Saturday, according to Minyvonne Burke of NBC News.
On Friday, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced five team employees received positive tests. Four additional positive tests subsequently came in.
The Dodgers won the World Series with a Game 6 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Oct. 27. The club removed third baseman Justin Turner from that game after he returned a positive test, but the 35-year-old re-entered the field during celebrations following the win.
It remains unclear if Turner is included in the nine mentioned on Saturday. The identities of those testing positive have not been disclosed.
Major League Baseball concluded an investigation into Turner on Friday and ultimately elected not to issue any penalties for breaking protocols.
