The Los Angeles Angels have contacted free agent Kolten Wong about potentially signing the second baseman, according to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Wong is a 2020 Gold Glove finalist after winning the award last year. He hit the open market when the St. Louis Cardinals declined his $12.5-million option last Wednesday.
The 30-year-old slashed .261/.333/.384 with 53 home runs and 88 stolen bases while accruing a 15.3 fWAR over eight seasons with the Cardinals.
Los Angeles is in need of infield help after losing shortstop Andrelton Simmons to free agency.
