The Toronto Blue Jays were busy leading up to the 2020 MLB trade deadline.

Toronto acquired utility man Jonathan Villar from the Miami Marlins, the team announced Monday.

Outfield prospect Griffin Conine is expected to be the PTBNL coming back to Miami, reports Craig Mish of MLB Network.

Toronto also traded for left-hander Robbie Ray in a deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the club added righty Ross Stripling from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 29-year-old Villar hit .272/.328/.360 with two home runs and nine stolen bases in 29 games for the Marlins this season. He went deep 24 times and swiped 40 bags in 2019 while with the Baltimore Orioles.

Infielder Isan Diaz could soon return for Miami. Diaz, who opted out at the beginning of August, is waiting to see if MLB will approve his reinstatement, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reports.

Conine is the No. 16-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays' system, according to MLB Pipeline. He's the son of former longtime Marlin Jeff Conine.
