Phillies' latest COVID-19 tests come back negative
The Philadelphia Phillies received good news Saturday after their latest round of COVID-19 testing returned no positive results, the team announced.
Phillies players now can access Citizens Bank Park for staggered workouts. The ballpark was shut down for cleaning earlier this week after one coach and one clubhouse staff member reportedly tested positive.
The Phillies haven't played since July 26 after coming into contact with the Miami Marlins. They had a four-game series against the New York Yankees and a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays postponed due to their contact with Miami players.
Miami has been dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak that has reportedly seen 18 players and two coaches test positive. The Marlins' latest round of testing returned no new positive results, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
Philadelphia is scheduled to face the Marlins in Miami on Tuesday, but MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports the Phillies won't make the trip.
