Nationals players receive World Series rings before workout session

At long last, Washington Nationals players have received their World Series rings.

The team distributed the diamond-encrusted hardware at Nationals Park prior to Thursday's workouts.

The club originally intended to host a virtual ring ceremony in May after the coronavirus pandemic created uncertainty around the fate of the 2020 season. Washington reversed course after discussions with players, who wished to be together when the rings were distributed.

Pitcher Erick Fedde showed off a profile shot of his ring in an Instagram post:

The Nationals won the first World Series championship in franchise history last year by defeating the Houston Astros in seven games.
