Report: Bregman hires Boras as agent
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman has hired Scott Boras to be his new agent, a source told Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle.
The 2019 AL MVP runner-up parted ways with his longtime agent, Brodie Scoffield, in May, just one month after the latter joined Klutch Sports Group - a company founded by LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul.
Bregman decided to leave Klutch after Uninterrupted - James' media company - revealed that it would be creating a documentary about the Astros' sign-stealing scandal.
The All-Star slugger signed a six-year, $100-million extension with Houston in March 2019.
Boras is coming off an offseason in which he negotiated more than $1 billion in free-agent contracts, including a nine-year, $324-million deal between ace Gerrit Cole and the New York Yankees.
The 67-year-old agent also represents the Astros' Jose Altuve and Lance McCullers Jr.
