Report: Price will give $1K to each minor leaguer in Dodgers' system

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander David Price will give $1,000 to every minor leaguer who isn't on the team's 40-man roster in June, according to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN, who corroborated an earlier report from MLB journalist Francys Romero.

There are over 200 players in the Dodgers' minor-league system.

Price, a 12-year veteran, has yet to play a single game for Los Angeles after coming over in an offseason trade from the Boston Red Sox.

The reported gesture comes at a time when MLB clubs are releasing hundreds of minor leaguers to cut costs amid coronavirus-induced work stoppages.

Teams agreed to pay MiLB players $400 per week through May 31 when the 2020 season was put on hold in March.
