WASHINGTON, D.C. - JULY 17: Washington Nationals and the National League pitcher Max Scherzer (31) walks off after giving up a hit to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the American League outfielder Mike Trout (27) during the 2018 All-Star Game at Nationals Park on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Los Angeles Angels star outfielder Mike Trout joined PGA Tour golfer Brooks Koepka on Nike Golf's Instagram account to shoot the breeze about sports Sunday night.

The three-time AL MVP was asked who he considers the best pitcher he's faced, and Trout offered little hesitation: Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer.

Trout recounted the time he drew a walk against Scherzer in the 2018 All-Star Game after a lengthy plate appearance and called it "the best at-bat" he's ever had.

Since Scherzer left the American League following the 2014 season, Trout's exposure to the ace right-hander has been limited. His results to date have not been favorable, either.

In 16 regular-season plate appearances against Scherzer, Trout has hit .188 with one home run, one double, no walks, and 10 strikeouts.

"He's nasty," Trout said.
