Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Dustin May only has 34 2/3 major-league innings under his belt, but he made an impression thanks to his long, curly red hair in his 2019 debut.
The 22-year-old told MLB Network Radio that he's grown out his hair periodically for years but really started letting it go ahead of his senior season in high school. His coach wasn't a fan of long hair, but they came to an agreement.

"He was like, 'As long as you go out and shove, you don't have to cut it,'" May said. "I went and threw pretty well, so he didn't make me cut it."
In his first taste of big-league ball, May posted a 3.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 8.3 K/9 over 14 games (four starts) down the stretch in 2019.
