The 2021 World Baseball Classic will take place March 9-23 at Miami's Marlins Park, Phoenix's Chase Field, Japan's Tokyo Dome, and Taiwan's Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium and Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday.
Marlins Park, the home of the Miami Marlins, will host games in all three rounds of the fifth installment of the tournament, including the championship finale, according to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. The stadium hosted contests in each of the last two events.
The Arizona Diamondbacks' ballpark, Chase Field, will be a participating site for the third time.
The field will expand from 16 to 20 teams for the 2021 World Baseball Classic, with 2020 qualifiers for those countries that didn't play in the last tournament taking place March 13-25 in Tucson, Arizona, according to De Nicola.
Team USA is the defending champion after beating Puerto Rico in the 2017 final.
