The Milwaukee Brewers signed infielder Brock Holt to a one-year deal with a club option for 2021, the team announced Wednesday.

Holt spent the last seven seasons with the Boston Red Sox, authoring a .270/.340/.374 slash line with 23 home runs, 203 RBIs, and 35 steals. He hit .297/.369/.402 with three home runs and 14 doubles in 295 plate appearances in 2019.

The 31-year-old offers the Brewers plenty of defensive versatility. He's played every position but pitcher and catcher during his major-league career.

The signing is the latest by Brewers general manager David Stearns, who has rebuilt Milwaukee's lineup this winter by inking Eric Sogard, Avisail Garcia, Justin Smoak, and Jedd Gyorko to deals while also trading for Omar Narvaez and Luis Urias.
