The Arizona Diamondbacks signed free-agent reliever Hector Rondon to a one-year deal with a 2021 club option, the team announced Thursday.

The pact is worth $3 million, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network

The option is for $4 million but can rise to $5 million depending on how many games Rondon finishes, Heyman reports.

Rondon can fill multiple roles in the D-Backs' bullpen and still has plenty of zip on his fastball. He averaged 96.7 mph on his four-seamer with the Houston Astros in 2019, according to Matt Kelly of MLB.com.

The 31-year-old righty owns a career 3.29 ERA with 92 saves across seven seasons with the Astros and Chicago Cubs.

The reported addition of Rondon is the third noteworthy move by Arizona this offseason. The club also inked four-time All-Star Madison Bumgarner and outfielder Kole Calhoun.
