The Chicago White Sox and left-hander Dallas Keuchel have agreed to a three-year, $55.5-million contract, the team announced Monday.
Keuchel's deal has a vesting fourth-year option that could push the value to $74 million, reports MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
The addition of Keuchel is the latest in a series of moves this offseason by White Sox general manager Rick Hahn.
Chicago also inked catcher Yasmani Grandal for four years, re-signed first baseman Jose Abreu, traded for outfielder Nomar Mazara, and added veteran starter Gio Gonzalez.
Keuchel made 19 regular-season starts for the Atlanta Braves last year, going 8-8 with a 3.75 ERA in 112 2/3 innings. He also made two postseason starts, logging eight innings and authoring a 4.50 ERA.
During his eight-year career, Keuchel is 84-71 with a 3.67 ERA, 3.80 FIP, and 1.26 WHIP. He won the American League Cy Young Award in 2015, is a two-time All-Star, and has four Gold Gloves to his credit.
The sinker-baller owns the highest ground-ball percentage among qualified MLB starters since 2014 and has been very effective at preventing home runs (0.82 per nine innings) during that same stretch.
Keuchel will join a White Sox rotation that likely includes Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Dylan Cease, and Gonzalez.
Carlos Rodon and Michael Kopech are also rotation options, but both pitchers are recovering from Tommy John surgery.
