The Texas Rangers have agreed to a three-year deal worth $30 million with right-hander Kyle Gibson, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Gibson will join a Rangers rotation that Mike Minor and Lance Lynn currently lead. Minor and Lynn finished among the top eight in American League Cy Young voting in 2019.
This is the third straight offseason the Rangers have handed a three-year deal to a free-agent starter.
Prior to the 2018 season, Texas inked Minor to a three-year, $28-million pact. One offseason later, the team signed Lynn to a three-year, $30-million contract.
The 32-year-old Gibson went 13-7 with a 4.84 ERA and 4.26 FIP in 160 innings for the Minnesota Twins last season. Gibson missed time in 2019 with ulcerative colitis, but that appears to be under control.
In seven campaigns with Minnesota, Gibson posted a 67-68 record with a 4.52 ERA and 1.41 WHIP across 193 appearances and 188 starts.
