The Minnesota Twins are interested in re-signing right-handed reliever Sergio Romo, sources told Dan Hayes of The Athletic.
Minnesota acquired Romo from the Miami Marlins at the 2019 trade deadline. The 36-year-old posted a 3.18 ERA, 0.93 WHIP over 22 2/3 innings with the Twins. He allowed two earned runs in his two innings of work in the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees.
Romo is also interested in returning, Hayes adds.
After spending the first nine seasons of his career with the San Francisco Giants, Romo has also spent time with the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The 12-year veteran signed a one-year, $2.5-million contract with the Marlins last offseason.
