Alonso became the first Mets player to hit 50 home runs in a season, smashing a 437-foot bomb against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.
Alonso is also just the second rookie ever to hit 50, joining Aaron Judge, who accomplished the feat in 2017. He's only two long balls shy of Judge's MLB rookie record.
The 24-year-old is the fifth player to record a 50-homer season this decade.
Alonso has produced a .266/.365/.593 slash line to go along with his MLB-leading home run total.
