Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout was scratched from Friday's starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays two hours before game time.

Trout was originally scheduled to hit second as the designated hitter, but an issue with his foot flared up before game time, according to MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger.
The two-time MVP hasn't started in a game since Sept. 5 because of a nerve issue in his right foot. He underwent a procedure to relieve the problem Monday.
Before Trout was scratched from the lineup, Angels manager Brad Ausmus said the team is still deciding on how he'll be used for the rest of the season.
"I can't really give you a definitive answer on how often or if Trouty is gonna be used ... It's what he can tolerate," Ausmus said, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
There are no plans to shut down Trout for the time being, according to Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times.
Trout is in the midst of another MVP-caliber season, hitting .291/.438/.645 with a career-high 45 home runs.
