The Chicago Cubs reinstated infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist from the restricted list on Saturday, the team announced, according to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian.

Zobrist hasn't played in the majors since May 6 after taking a personal leave to handle his divorce.

The 38-year-old recently split his time between playing for the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa and looking after his kids in Tennessee.

The three-time All-Star was hitting .241/.343/.253 with 10 RBIs before he went on leave. He's in the final season of a four-year, $56-million contract signed with Chicago before the 2016 campaign.

To make room on the 25-man roster for Zobrist, infielder David Bote was optioned to Triple-A. Outfielder Mark Zagunis was also designated for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot for the veteran.
