Danny Salazar's return to the majors lasted all of four innings.

Less than 24 hours after making his first start since 2017, the Cleveland Indians placed the right-hander on the 10-day injured list with what's being called a right groin strain, according to Mandy Bell of MLB.com.

A shoulder injury had sidelined Salazar for all of 2018, and his return from the IL was highly anticipated to help fill the void left by Trevor Bauer, who was traded ahead of the deadline. But his start on Thursday did not go smoothly, as he allowed two runs on four hits - including two homers - and three walks while striking out just two in an eventual 7-1 loss to the Houston Astros.

He did not come out for the fifth, ceding to Tyler Clippard after just 66 pitches.

The 29-year-old, a one-time All-Star, posted a 4.28 ERA with 145 strikeouts across 23 appearances (19 starts) in 2017.

Cleveland also placed left-hander Tyler Olson on the 10-day IL Friday. The team did not specify the exact nature of his injury, instead calling it a "non-baseball medical condition," per Bell.

Pitchers Phil Maton and Hunter Wood were recalled from Triple-A Columbus in corresponding moves.
