Frazier: Arrieta went 'a little overboard' with skull threat

New York Mets third baseman Todd Frazier didn't like getting hit by Jake Arrieta's changeup and he didn't appreciate the pitcher threatening to "put a dent in his skull" after the game.

"A little overboard," Frazier said Sunday, according to Ben Walker of The Associated Press.

Frazier has been hit seven times by Philadelphia pitchers since the start of 2018 including twice over the weekend. Three of his seven HBPs this season have come against Phillies pitching.

Frazier was livid after Arrieta hit him Saturday, but he said there's no grudge between the two. But that doesn't mean he likes getting plunked, nor does he enjoy being threatened.

"He can say what he wants," Frazier quipped. "I’m just sick of getting hit, especially by this team."

The matter is currently under league review to see if Arrieta's comments require discipline.

"We’ll see what the commissioner wants to do. He saw what people are saying," Frazier said. "The commissioner has his hands full. We’ll see."

Altogether, Phillies pitchers have hit 12 Mets batters this season.
