The New York Yankees wasted no time making history Tuesday.
DJ LeMahieu's solo shot to lead off the first inning against the Toronto Blue Jays gave the Yankees a home run in their major-league record 28th straight game, breaking the mark previously held by the 2002 Texas Rangers.

Gleyber Torres added a third Yankees round-tripper in the second inning.
As a team, New York has hit 50 homers over the course of this streak, which began May 26. Fourteen individual players have homered over the 28-game run; LeMahieu and Gary Sanchez are now tied for the most long bombs during the streak with eight, while Torres has gone deep seven times.
