Braves' Newcomb feeling 'pretty good' after taking line drive to head
Atlanta Braves left-hander Sean Newcomb left Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after getting hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of J.T. Realmuto.
Well that’s something I’ve never seen happen before. Realmuto Hit a line drive back at Newcomb, hits him in the back of the head and it goes flying back behind the Phillies dugout. @Braves pic.twitter.com/n6I5x6tomu

Newcomb was able to exit the game in the third inning under his own power.

"Right away, I felt pretty good," Newcomb said, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com. "I was with it the whole time, I remember the whole play. I knew I was pretty good. I just obviously got squared up in the head, so it's sore."
Newcomb - currently in MLB's concussion protocol - will be further evaluated overnight, but he and the team are hopeful he avoided serious injury.
"We're just going to keep monitoring him. He's got a mark on his head. Even when he was on the field, he's like, 'I know what happened.' ... Hopefully, we dodged a bullet," manager Brian Snitker told 680 The Fan.
The 26-year-old entered Saturday's action with a 2.59 ERA in 31 1/3 innings (three starts) for the Braves in 2019.
