The San Francisco Giants are in active trade discussions for an outfielder, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

San Francisco is talking to multiple clubs as recently acquired outfielder Tyler Austin continues to deal with inflammation in his right elbow, Rosenthal reports.

The Giants have stumbled out of the gate in 2019 with an 11-14 record, and their lack of outfield depth has been an issue so far despite trading for Kevin Pillar in early April.

Pillar patrols center field but has a -0.1 WAR (according to FanGraphs) with the Giants and Toronto Blue Jays, while Steven Duggar (0.0) and Gerardo Parra (-0.3) get the majority of the time at the corner outfield positions.

Entering Friday's action, San Francisco was tied for last in the NL West.
