Add another one to the list of strange injury incidents involving baseball players.

San Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer needed nine stitches inserted above his right eye on Saturday after falling while exiting the team's sauna, according to MLB.com's AJ Cassavell.

Hosmer felt light-headed because of the heat and briefly passed out, leading to a cut on his forehead.

"I just fell," he said. "It wasn’t fun, that’s for sure. But I’m OK."

The 29-year-old recovered and was included in the Padres' starting lineup on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds.

Hosmer, who signed an eight-year, $144-million contract with San Diego before the 2018 campaign, entered Sunday hitting .213/.276/.325 with two home runs and 11 RBIs over 21 games this season.
