The Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to play in London next summer, reports Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune.
Major League Baseball will announce the dates of the series later this summer, Gonzales adds.
It will be the Cubs' first international series since they played the New York Mets in Japan in 2000.
Asked to comment on the possibility of an overseas series during spring training, Cubs superstar Kris Bryant relished the potential opportunity.
"It would be awesome, a cool trip to go over there," Bryant told Gonzales in March. "I hope it's us."
The reported series between the two rivals will follow MLB's inaugural European series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees at London Stadium this June.
