Colorado Rockies first baseman Daniel Murphy fractured his left index finger and the expectation is he'll be placed on the 10-day injured list, he told Nick Groke of The Athletic.
Murphy suffered the injury to the tip of his left index finger while fielding a ground ball during the fourth inning of Friday's game against the Miami Marlins, according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post.
He finished that game and singled in an at-bat after suffering the injury, but was not in the Rockies' lineup on Saturday as the team sent him for precautionary X-rays.
Murphy, who said he'll visit a hand specialist on Monday, didn't say how long he might be out. However, it's likely he'll miss "significant" time, according to Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post.
"I don't do timetables," Murphy said. "When I'm back in the lineup, I'm healthy. That's usually the way I do it."

Colorado could turn to a combination of players to fill in at first base in Murphy's absence. Ryan McMahon started at the position on Saturday and could continue to do so going forward; Ian Desmond and Mark Reynolds also have experience playing first.
The 33-year-old signed a two-year, $24-million contract with the Rockies in the offseason. He's coming off a 2018 season that saw him limited to just 91 games due to knee surgery. Ultimately, he slashed .299/.336/.454 over his limited action with the Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs.
Murphy went 1-for-10 during his first two games of the 2019 season.
