San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy announced on Monday that he'll retire at the end of the 2019 season.

"In my mind, it's time," the 63-year-old told reporters, including Kerry Crowley of The Mercury News. "It's been an unbelievable ride and there's so much to be grateful for."

The veteran skipper mentioned he'll likely "stay in baseball and do something" following his retirement.

Giants chief executive officer Larry Baer said Bochy will be a Giant for life and the organization plans to honor him throughout the season, according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.

Bochy helped lead the Giants to World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

He was named the National League Manager of the Year in 1996 while managing the San Diego Padres.

Teams under Bochy - a strong candidate for the Hall of Fame - have won a combined six division titles.

The former big-league catcher enters the 2019 season 11th all time in regular-season managerial wins with 1,926. Of those victories, 975 have come with the Giants.

Bochy is the only manager in major-league history to win at least 900 games with two different teams and is tied for fourth all time in postseason victories, according to Stats by STATS.
