The Miami Marlins announced Tuesday they've signed veteran outfielder Curtis Granderson to a minor-league contract with an invite to major-league spring training.
Granderson will earn $1.75 million if he makes the Marlins' roster, with the chance to add another $250,000 in incentives, reports The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
The 37-year-old and Marlins CEO Derek Jeter were teammates on the New York Yankees from 2010-13.
Granderson appeared in 123 games for the Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers last season, hitting 13 home runs and recording a .782 OPS.
He's earned three All-Star nods, hit 332 home runs, and registered a slash line of .252/.340/.470 over the course of his 15-year career.
Granderson is the second former Yankee signed by the Marlins in the past week. Miami signed veteran infielder Neil Walker to a one-year deal Jan. 29.
