With David Robertson no longer in the mix after signing a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, the New York Yankees have shifted their attention to a new target.

The pinstripes are focused on acquiring left-hander Zach Britton, according to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, who reports the 31-year-old free agent is believed to have multiple offers.

Britton and his agent Scott Boras have been holding out for a four-year deal, according to The Athletic's Jayson Stark.

As of two weeks ago, New York and Philadelphia were reportedly among the leaders for Britton, but the Phillies' addition of Robertson likely takes them out of the running.

Britton appeared in 25 games for the Yankees in 2018 after he was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles in a July trade, posting a 2.88 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 25 innings.

The two-time All-Star and former Cy Young candidate has 142 saves under his belt during his eight-year career, which has also included a ground ball percentage of 65.4.
