The Washington Nationals upgraded their rotation last week by signing Patrick Corbin and appear to be interested in making further changes.

Washington has engaged in multiple trade discussions about right-hander Tanner Roark, sources told Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, who reports the Nationals continue to look at free-agent pitchers to supplement their rotation.

With Corbin's addition, the Nationals feature a strong rotation heading into next season, with Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg leading the charge.

2018 stats

PITCHER GS IP ERA WHIP SO
Max Scherzer 33 220.2 2.53 0.91 300
Stephen Strasburg 22 130 3.74 1.20 156

Roark, who is eligible for free agency at the end of 2019 and is projected to earn $9.8 million through arbitration, led the National League in losses last season while also posting one of the highest ERAs of his career.

The 32-year-old has two strong seasons under his belt though, winning a combined 31 games in 2014 and '16.

2014 31 198.2 2.85 1.09 138

Over the course of his six-year career, Roark owns a 64-54 record with a 3.59 ERA in 182 appearances, 141 of which have been starts.
