The Washington Nationals are reportedly looking to add another starting pitcher this offseason, according to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports.
The Nationals already inked the highest-profile starter by signing southpaw Patrick Corbin to a six-year, $140-million contract, and are apparently unsatisfied.
If they elect to go the free-agent route again, hurlers Dallas Keuchel, J.A. Happ, Charlie Morton, Matt Harvey, Lance Lynn, and former Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez, among others, remain unsigned as the winter meetings get underway.
With Corbin on the roster, the rotation currently shakes out with him, Max Scherzer, and Stephen Strasburg as the top three starters. Two of Erick Fedde, Joe Ross, and Tanner Roark will likely fill out the rotation if no other free agents are brought in.
In addition to a starting pitcher, Washington's wish list includes another relief pitcher and a second baseman. Earlier on Monday, it was revealed that the Nationals have already touched base with DJ LeMahieu's agent and are also considering Marwin Gonzalez and Josh Harrison.
