Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Kenley Jansen will have heart surgery on Nov. 26, according to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick.

The best-case scenario for the 31-year-old is a two-week recovery, but it could take as many as eight weeks. Either way, he should be ready to participate in spring training, Gurnick adds.

Jansen was hospitalized in August with an irregular heartbeat while the Dodgers were in Colorado. He struggled upon his return to the mound.

The All-Star closer blamed the use of prescribed heart medication for his dip in performance. He stopped taking them and returned to his typically productive form to end the regular season.

He later admitted he thought the heart issue was going to end his year.

"I wasn't scared. I knew exactly what it was," Jansen told Ramona Shelburne of ESPN in September. "I was pissed. I thought my season was over. I'm like, man, f--- this. Not again. We're trying to go back to the World Series. I have a chance to win another Trevor Hoffman award. Man!"

Jansen, a three-time All-Star, had a similar operation on his heart in 2012.
