Despite J.T. Realmuto's apparent wish for a change of scenery, it doesn't appear the Miami Marlins' front office is going to lose sleep trying to move the catcher.

Realmuto's agent, Jeff Berry, said earlier this week that the All-Star doesn't plan to sign an extension with the Marlins, adding, "(Realmuto) will definitely be wearing a different uniform by the start of spring training."

Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill responded on Friday to Berry's comments.

"Agents can say whatever they want to say," Hill told Steven Wine of The Associated Press. "J.T. knows how we feel about him."

"J.T. is obviously a very talented player," the executive continued. "I would expect there will be interest in a lot of our talented players. It's our job to go there with an open mind of how we improve."

Realmuto remains the only household name who managed to escape Miami's year-long fire sale that began last offseason. He slashed .277/.340/.484 in 2018 with a career-best 21 homers and 74 RBIs, while also throwing out a career-high 38 percent of base-stealers.
