Kemp's catch causes controversy during Game 3 of ALCS
Ranging back underneath the Crawford Boxes, Houston Astros left fielder Tony Kemp made an outrageous leaping catch to deprive Steve Pearce of a run-scoring extra-base hit and end the third inning. Or so it seemed.
Kemp crashed into the left-field scoreboard of Minute Maid Park to make the grab and, despite it being reviewed and upheld by major-league officials, the play was met with some controversy.

Here's the freeze frame of the exact moment. If you slow it down, it looks as if it does indeed scrape down on the wall. https://t.co/LdE95K0EWQ pic.twitter.com/zBSVHTmwkM

After seeing the play in slow motion, some argued the ball grazed the outfield scoreboard before landing in Kemp's glove. The play also resulted in a loud sound, though that could have been caused by a variety of reasons, including the ball hitting against the wall after already landing in Kemp's glove or the outfielder himself crashing against the board.
