The Atlanta Braves made their second acquisition of the day on Wednesday, acquiring first baseman Lucas Duda from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Atlanta added catcher Rene Rivera on a waiver claim from the Los Angeles Angels earlier Wednesday.
Duda, 32, spent the first eight years of his career in the NL East with the New York Mets. He hit 125 home runs with New York from 2010-17.
With the Royals, Duda hit .242/.311/.415 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs in 86 games.
Duda's acquisition is one of the many recently made by the Braves' front office.
Atlanta also traded for pitchers Kevin Gausman, Brad Brach, Darren O'Day, and Jonny Venters in July.
