Watch: Phillies' Kingery throws pitches too slow for radar gun to pick up

MLB has seen its fair share of poor pitching performances from position players this season, but Philadelphia Phillies infielder Scott Kingery took things to a new level in a blowout loss to the New York Mets on Thursday.
Kingery took the hill in the eighth inning for Philadelphia and threw 1 1/3 innings of lob ball, allowing two earned runs on four hits.
His pitches were so slow that they failed to register on MLB Gameday or the stadium's radar gun, according to Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philly.
MLB Network Radio apparently did some investigative work and concluded a "fastball" Kingery threw to Mets pitcher Jerry Blevins was clocked at around 38 mph.
Fortunately, the 24-year-old homered in the second game of the doubleheader to enter the record books and make up for his pitching woes.
