Matt Holliday's career is coming full circle.
The 38-year-old free agent is signing a minor-league contract with the Colorado Rockies, Fancred's Jon Heyman reported Saturday.
Holliday has not played big-league ball this season after spending 2017 with the New York Yankees.
The veteran began his career with the Rockies after the organization selected him in the seventh round of the 1998 draft.
Before Colorado traded him to the Oakland Athletics in 2008, Holliday was one of the Rockies' most effective players, amassing a .938 OPS (131 OPS+) in 698 games. He finished second in MVP voting in 2007.
Holliday's career has been impressive. The Oklahoma native owns a .299/.378/.511 slash line with 314 career home runs and 1,217 RBIs in nearly 1,900 MLB games.
During his 14 seasons in the big leagues, Holliday was chosen as an All-Star seven times, won the 2007 NL batting title, and earned four Silver Sluggers.
