With MLB's trade deadline around a month away, the Cincinnati Reds are apparently learning teams around the league value home runs more then they might have thought.
Slugging outfielder Adam Duvall is drawing a "surprising amount" of trade interest, according to a report from The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
The 29-year-old Duvall is hitting just .203 with an on-base percentage of .283, but has two consecutive seasons of 30-plus home runs under his belt and has 12 homers this year.
He's also a one-time All-Star, two-time Gold Glove finalist, and isn't eligible for free agency until 2022, while his salary of $645,000 this season is incredibly affordable for clubs showing interest.
Rosenthal doesn't name any specific teams in his report, but contenders such as the Washington Nationals (85) and Chicago Cubs (79) are ranked 18th and 21st, respectively, among major-league clubs in home runs.
