Atlanta Braves pitcher Anibal Sanchez had a rough weekend in Hollywood.
Sanchez's Los Angeles hotel room was burglarized on Saturday night while he was pitching for the Braves at Dodger Stadium, according to a report from TMZ Sports. Over $100,000 worth of jewelry was apparently taken from the room, including four watches belonging to the right-hander.
There were no signs of forced entry into the suite, sources told TMZ. Police are now investigating.
Sanchez, now in his 13th big-league season, joined the Braves on a minor-league contract during spring training following a career-worst 2017 campaign in Detroit. He's since emerged as a surprisingly valuable member of Atlanta's pitching staff, crafting a 2.37 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 26 strikeouts over six appearances.
