Houston Astros outfielder Josh Reddick might be the next Spider-Man, just without the costume and superpowers.
The 31-year-old was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a leg infection that he believes was the result of a spider bite.
Reddick isn't sure when the bite occurred, but he first felt the pain on May 17.
"We haven't really been able to pinpoint where, when it happened," he said on SportsTalk 790's "The Matt Thomas Show." "I thought it was an ingrown hair, or maybe a spider bite at first. I tried to dig in there and get the ingrown hair. I couldn't find it. Then as the days went by, (the infection) just kept growing. I had the training staff look at it and here we are."
Reddick will continue to take antibiotics to ward off the infection, and he decided to poke a little fun at the ordeal on Twitter.

He was hitting .227/.331/.409 with six home runs and 18 RBIs before hitting the DL.
